At the end of summer break in 2019, we threw together a special performance that you definitely don't see every day. It was part of Mozart's famous opera Don Giovanni (stylised as Johndovany meaning “John in the Bathtub), which he composed and premièred in Prague. It was sung to us by world-famous opera singer Adam Plachetka. And on the Lucerna Rooftop, there were about 30 bathtubs filled with sun-heated water. Those in attendance could choose to lie down in the bathtubs (if they wanted), but they had to do so while fully clothed.
The event received extensive news coverage all around the world. Some people probably got the idea that operas in the Czech Republic are commonly staged on roofs and in bathtubs.
